"share" in the process
Community Supported Agriculture
community supported agriculture (csa)
The CSA, or community supported agriculture, model allows community members to support local farms by purchasing a "share" in advance of the harvest. As a CSA participant, you share in the risks and bounty of crop production, providing an investment that helps to cover the costs of seeds and equipment needed to run the farm. In return for your investment, you will receive a bouquet of sustainably grown, freshly cut flowers throughout the growing season. You will pick up your flowers each week from our flower cart in the lobby of the Fondren Corner Building in Jackson.
This year, we will be offering both a 6-week spring CSA and a 12-week summer CSA.
Spring CSA members will receive six bouquets during the growing season ($120). Because our weather can be a little unpredictable during this time of year, we aren’t scheduling specific dates but rather inviting you into the excitement and anticipation of waiting and watching for the flowers to bloom. We will send photos of the onset of spring here at Little Bluestem and let you know a week or so before deliveries begin. We think this will be a delightful adventure as together we wait for tulips, daffodils, ranunculus, anemones, larkspur, and other spring blooms.
The summer CSA will run from June 3 through August 30, and members can choose from three sizes of arrangements. This summer, we are excited to introduce several new varieties of zinnias, sunflowers, and cosmos. We will also be growing dahlias, celosia, rudbeckia, Queen Anne’s Lace, and scented geraniums, along with native grasses and wildflowers. The prices listed below are for the entire season.
